A new year filled with musical opportunities and discoveries!
We might be a little late on this one, but we want to extend our best of wishes to all of the readers of Silent Sound Waves out there. We hope your holidays were great and that you found all the music you wanted under the tree, and that the first few days of the new year has been a positive sign of what’s to come!
2008 was a very interesting year in music, and it was certainly a treat for us here at Silent Sound Waves. Within the last half of the year we managed to get this blog up and running, put together a staff team with a whoppin’ three members as of right now, and establish a small but loyal base of readers.
Even though the ball started rolling in 2008, we didn’t do as well as we’d like to in terms of posts and in particular how frequently we post. Our main goal for 2009 is to post more often; we want to review many more albums, share more old classics and new, fresh classics-to-be with you, as well as many other things!
In addition to giving you more of the stuff you have already been given a taste of, we want to improve and expand as well. As of right now we are already planning a contest we are going to run in which you will be able to win a bunch of sweet prizes, and as a surprise move we are centering the prizes around music!
Keep a lookout for that, and while you wait go listen to some great music, and get yourself hyped for some of the great things coming our way in the near future. This month alone will give us new albums from Franz Ferdinand, Bruce Springsteen, Animal Collective, Glasvegas (american release of debut album), a new EP from Bon Iver and much more!
PS: If you are a member of Last.fm please take a moment to join the Silent Sound Waves group, as we would love to get a better idea of what is popular among our readers. Also if you are on MySpace, feel free to add us. We are not exactly sure how we will be utilizing the profile yet, but there’s more to come for sure.
